GISS 2000
THE FIRST GREATER IPAC SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM

The first ever Greater IPAC Science Symposium will be held on Thursday and Friday, March 30 and 31, 2000. The Science Symposium is designed to be a forum for all interested staff of IPAC, the SIRTF Science Center (SSC) and the Interferometry Science Center (ISC) to present, discuss and learn about the diverse research that is being carried out by IPAC staff. The atmosphere is intended to be informal, and the location, the Winnett Lounge (upstairs from the Caltech Bookstore), is designed to get us away from our offices and project work. All of the projects are being asked to cancel project meetings for the two days of the Symposium, and to give consideration of the meeting when assigning deadlines.

The format of the Symposium will be 15 minute contributed talks from Greater IPAC science staff. In addition, each day there will be one or two Invited Talks given by science staff members. The final presentation made on Friday will be the State of IPAC address presented by George Helou, Executive Director. All Greater IPAC staff are encouraged and invited to attend. Even if you aren't involved in science at IPAC, please make sure to join us for the State of IPAC address and the catered Reception following Friday's session.
